Localized Desktop Publishing Services

We have full in-house DTP teams in all our main offices Our DTP teams work on projects of all sizes, from sophisticated and detailed Quark artwork to high-volume FrameMaker documentation. The process always starts with the analysis of the source files and the extraction of the text from the source format to a format compatible with Trados and other CAT tools. When this has been translated, the teams convert the text back to the original format before re-formatting it within the client's source template, matching the original in each language. Part of the process and capability covers extracting the graphics, editing them where required, and taking screenshots of the translated software which replace the source screenshots in the template. We have experience in all the major PC and Mac DTP software, including FrameMaker, Quark Xpress, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as various multimedia packages such as Flash, Director and After Effects.

We have a number of Asian language DTP specialists for Chinese, Japanese and Korean. We have also completed several high-volume projects with interlinked documentation, and are accustomed to working in a highly structured environment with standardized system setups and methodologies.

Localized Web Graphics Production

Our DTP team is responsible for the localization of the graphic assets and is proficient in the use of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign as well as Flash. If editable source files are available, the text is easily extracted for translation and then refloated and reformatted in the original files. If no editable source files are available, our teams will generate an editable version as similar as possible to the Source they were provided with. Once this Source is generated and approved by the client we proceed with the standard process:

The final step is to export to the format specified by the client ensuring the size and resolution of the graphics match the source ones. The Linguists review the final graphics for correctness.

As needed, the graphics are checked in their final environment.
