Alpha has offered globalization services to the IT industry since its foundation in 1987.
In the twenty-three years since then, our customer base has grown to include many of the world's best-known software companies, and along the way Alpha has acquired the complete range of skills needed to localize all kinds of software.
As the focus has been so firmly on this area, we have naturally worked with clients who are the earliest adopters of new localization technologies, and we have been at the forefront of the innovations of the last two decades. Alpha has one of the strongest technology and engineering groups in the localization industry, and we are working with all our major clients to maximize the benefits they obtain from their investments in technology, and to create the new business models that the technology enables.
Alpha has production offices on 5 continents and we are currently looking after significant projects for more than 20 of the world’s largest and best known IT companies. These include Autodesk, Sun, Symantec, IBM, SAP, Sybase, BMC, Adobe, Ebay and HP. The core of our translation resource is our 90 language Managers and language leads for our 21 in-house languages, managing our pool of 1,800 professional translators.  We have 37 project managers, currently managing over $20m in revenue.
Our technology group has globalization and localization specialists, who have developed workflows and processes for over 60 clients on Idiom WorldServer, TMS and Across. This is supported by a large group of specialist multilingual localization engineers with skills across all current development and delivery platforms.

The services we provide our clients covers a broad range, from consulting activities, to GIM hosting and the full spectrum of localization activities: file preparation, TM enabling, terminology management, UI, help and doc files translation, testing, screen-shooting, desktop publishing and multimedia work. One of Alpha strengths is the ability to design a full localization process from the ground up, taking complete control of the planning and offering a completely outsourced solution to our clients. Alpha can act as a one-stop supplier, with the ability to set up and organise teams in different territories, and manage external resources and relationships on behalf of their client.  Alpha can effectively own all the localization activities for a single product, and minimize client involvement in the process.
Our localization processes benefit from engineering expertise at development level, and our work is characterized by innovation and commitment to excellence. We own, host and maintain a range of leading enterprise solutions and have expert status in over 50 CAT, media and management tools.
We have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the issues involved in the QA and testing of localized software. We know exactly what to look out for, and how to look for it. We apply well-defined processes, supported by tried and tested methodologies. A QA team is allocated to every project. The size of the team varies according to the size and complexity of the application, but includes at least one Engineer and one Linguist per language. Team members’ work side by side to ensure the process is co-coordinated at every stage.
