Tasks:

Translate everything in the context of games localization: in-game content (descriptions of background, worlds, locations, dialogues), character descriptions, player instructions, documentation, packaging, advertising materials, websites, newsletters, competitions, etc.
Review translations of colleagues and externals, homogenize style.
Create product-relevant style guides and glossaries
Provide feedback to translator teams
Assess difficulties of particular texts, or sections
Allocate work
Source language: US-English (Japanese useful)

Skills:

Native speaker of French, German, Spanish, Italian
Excellent English
Excellent knowledge and awareness of games-related language
Minimum of 4 years translation experience, of which at least 3 in the games field (as a translator or tester)
Good IT skills
Knowledge of translation memory software
Enthusiast games player, able to reach high-level status
Good interpersonal skills, including leadership skills
General characteristics: Positive, proactive, able to motivate people and create a good rapport with the client

GAMES Localization Project Manager

Job description:

Manage large-scale games projects for Alpha CRC
Overview the entire games production (translation to sound recording, etc.)
Day-per-day communication with our clients
Manage games budget and schedules
Create delivery schedule, milestones, progress reports
Work closely with multi-lingual external and internal teams (Adaptation experts, QA teams, Audio teams, account managers)

Requirements:

Avid Gamer – Must be passionate about games
Must have released AAA titles (MMORPG would be a major +)
Must be familiar with all games production aspects (including cultural adaptation, QA and Audio Recording)
Must be able to work in a high pressure environment
Must be self-reliant and work autonomously as well as within a team
Fluent in English, another language a major + (Japanese, FIGS...), with good communication skills (written and spoken)
